Reports To: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Job Summary

The ABA Therapist / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services under the close supervision of a BCBA. This role involves working directly with clients, typically those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities, to teach communication, social, self-help, and daily living skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized treatment plans designed by the BCBA, including skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Collect accurate and reliable data on client progress using various measurement methods (e.g., frequency, duration, ABC data).
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment, managing challenging behaviors with clinical integrity and fidelity to the behavior plan.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with the BCBA, caregivers, and other members of the clinical team regarding client progress and any issues that arise.
  • Adhere strictly to the RBT Ethics Code and maintain client confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Active credential as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Ability to physically engage with clients and perform necessary job functions (e.g., kneeling, quickly moving, lifting small weights).
