Job Summary
The Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) provides specialized mental health counseling services, including comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychotherapy, to individuals, groups, and families to address mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments and clinical interviews using the DSM-5 criteria.
- Develop, implement, and continuously review individualized, recovery-oriented treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy, which may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, or other specialized modalities.
- Provide crisis intervention and psychoeducation to clients and their support systems.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Coordinate care with psychiatric providers, primary care physicians, and community support agencies.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Current, active state licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or equivalent (e.g., LCPC in some states).
- Minimum of 1 year of post-licensure clinical experience in an outpatient or community mental health setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ethical guidelines, therapeutic techniques, and crisis management protocols.
